While our recipes are made with carefully selected ingredients, they're not veterinary prescription diets or formulated to treat specific medical conditions.
Can my dog eat Scrumbles if they have a medical condition?
It depends on your dog's individual needs, the condition they've been diagnosed with, and your vets advice. Our recipes are designed for everyday feeding, we also offer options made without grains, gluten, soy, dairy, egg, chicken, poultry or red meat. You can find the ingredient list for each product on the product page under the Ingredients tab, so you can share the product page with your vet.
We always recommend speaking to your vet before changing your dog's diet if they have an existing medical condition.
Your vet can help determine whether a particular recipe is suitable based on your dog's nutritional requirements.
What if my dog has allergies or food sensitivities?
We offer recipes formulated to exclude certain ingredients, such as grains, gluten or specific animal proteins. However, not all our recipes exclude the same ingredients, so it's important to check the full ingredient list for each product. Our recipes are also made on sites that handle these ingredients, so traces may be present.
Our recipes are not veterinary hypoallergenic or hydrolysed diets, and may not be suitable for dogs with diagnosed food allergies. If your dog has a known allergy or sensitivity, we'd recommend discussing any dietary changes with your vet first.
What about conditions such as pancreatitis, kidney disease or diabetes?
Dogs with conditions such as pancreatitis, kidney disease or diabetes may need carefully controlled levels of particular nutrients. For example, some dogs with pancreatitis may require a low-fat diet, while dogs with kidney disease may need specific adjustments to their phosphorus and protein intake.
Although some Scrumbles recipes have particular nutritional characteristics, we can't recommend our food as suitable for treating or managing these conditions.
Your vet is best placed to advise whether a specific recipe meets your dog's needs.
Can you help me find a suitable recipe?
Of course! While we can't provide veterinary advice, we're happy to share ingredient lists, nutritional information and analytical constituents for our recipes.
This can help you and your vet make an informed decision about which food may be appropriate for your dog.
Simply email us at [email protected] with the recipe you're interested in, and we'll be happy to help.
Please note: Scrumbles recipes are not veterinary prescription diets and are not intended to diagnose, treat or manage medical conditions. Always consult your vet before making dietary changes for a pet with an existing health condition.
